Black Collar Society was founded in 2013 as Calgary's 1st Luxury Pet Services company. Our mission is to give our clients peace of mind by delivering the very best of companionship & care, pet products and grooming. We understand that your pets are family, and it gives us no greater joy than to share their journey as they grow up (or grow old).

We provide your pets with safety, security and a high quality of life while you are away at work or on vacation. We offer our advice and expertise gained by working with thousands of pets over 5+ years. We work hard to earn your trust through our professional approach to pet services, our stellar customer reviews and our culture of caring for your pets as though members of our own families. Black Collar Society has been serving Calgary pet owners since June of 2013. During these 5+ years, we have joyfully worked with hundreds of beloved pets and their owners. Check out our excellent reviews to find out more about why our 1300 pets and their owners keep coming back year after year.

Yes, we have Commercial General Liability insurance through Silvercrest Insurance Group, who also holds our bond. Upon request, we are able to provide proof of our insurance and bonding.
Absolutely. We are registered and licensed with the City of Calgary as a Kennel Service / Pet Dealer and Retail Dealer.
Our rates vary depending on the service. Please view a list of our services and associated pricing. Please note that our price list is exclusive of GST. All services are subject to 5% GST and are subject to change at any time.
Drop-off is any time during our hours of operation. Boarding guests checking out from our hotel must do so no later than 12pm. We are more than happy to accommodate a later check-out for an additional fee. Special requests for pick-up/drop-off times may be sent to thepack@blackcollarsociety.com.
Black Collar Society has implemented a bi-monthly billing cycle for regular mobile service customers. For vacation clients, monies are owed on the first day that services are to be provided. You may view your account statement, invoice history and payment history at any time through our convenient online portal by logging into your account. We prefer to collect payments up front so that we can focus on making your pet's stay extraordinary. Reach out to our office with special requests and we will do our best to accomodate them.
All Black Collar Society pet owners using mobile services must sign our Service Agreement before the first service is provided. It ensures that all policies and conditions have been communicated clearly up front and that there are no surprises later. The Service Agreement outlines our requirements, cancellation policy, expenses, fees, and includes an image release. It also includes a veterinary release so that we are authorized to seek medical attention for your pet in the event of an emergency.
  1. If the Pet Owners change the date they require services, then Black Collar Society is released from all contractual obligations and shall in no way be held responsible for non-performance.
  2. In the event of a dog walking or dog daycare cancellation, 24 hours notice must be given in order to receive a full refund. If Pet Owners fail to give 24 hour notice, they are responsible to pay for the dog walking services in full.
  3. In the event of a pet sitting or boarding cancellation, 14 days notice must be given in order to receive a full refund. If Pet Owners give 7 days notice, they surrender their deposit (to be refunded if the vacancy is filled within those 7 days). If the Pet Owners give 48 hours notice or less, they surrender their deposit and are responsible for lost or unpaid wages.
When you hire Black Collar Society, you eliminate the risk that comes along with hiring an independent dog walker or pet sitter. Black Collar Society has a team of reliable and flexible Pet Care Specialists so that you don’t have to worry about availability. We will always do our absolute best to accommodate your service needs. You should also know that we don't hire contractors or freelancers when things get busy. Our staff are on our payroll and have been vetted through an extensive hiring and training process. This is a critical piece of what makes working with us different.
